Tomaatit ja kurkut on nyt istutettu uusin laatikoihin. Laitoimme laatikoiden pohjalle kiviä sekä Leca-kevytsoraa. Keräsin kiviä tontilta pariin laatikkoon ja pariin laatikkoon ostimme soraa, joka osoittautui riittoisaksi. Yksi 25 l pussi riitti isoimpaan laatikkoon. Soran päälle tuli vielä suodatinkangas ennen turvemullan laittoa. Turvemultaa
ostimme kaikkiaan 1000 litraa 50 l säkeissä, joten minäkin jaksoin kantaa säkkejä ylös kasvihuoneelle. Laatikot vuorattiin ensin rakennusmuovilla, että laatikot kestäisivät pidempään. Muoviin tehtiin muutama reikä pohjiin, että liika vesi valuisi pois. Laitettiin myös kastelujärjestelmä toimintaan. Siirsimme muovisen vesiastian kasvihuoneen toiselle puolelle, että tila tulisi paremmin käyttöön. Kastelujärjestelmän asentaminen onnistui tälläkin kertaa.
Istutin laatikoihin myös kasvattamiani paprikan ja oreganon taimia. Lisäksi laitoin multaan herneen, salaatin, persiljan ja timjamin siemeniä. Istutin myös samettikukan siemeniä torjumaan mahdollisia tuholaisia, jos niitä sattuisi ilmaantumaan.
Bernityttömme huiskaisi hännällään vahingossa yhden tomaatin taimenen poikki, joten nyt on vain kaksi itse kasvattamaan taimenta jäljellä. Taidan ostaa yhden valmiin taimenen ja käsittelen sen ennen kasvihuoneeseen laittoa ettei tuholaisia tulisi sen mukana.
Istutin kasvihuoneen ulkopuolelle penkkiin kehäkukan siemeniä. Ne ovat niin kauniita.
Osa aiemmin istutetuista pioneista on lähtenyt kasvamaan. Toivottavasti loputkin pionit lähtevät kasvamaan. Runkoruusuissa ei ole vielä silmuja mutta ne näyttävät selvinneen talvesta.
Laitoin myös perhosbaarin taas riippumaan.
The tomatoes and the cucumbers are now planted into the new wooden boxes. We put expanded clay pellets and rocks on the bottom of the boxes. I collected some rocks from our lot to some of the bocxes ja put the expanded clay pellets to some of the boxes. 25 litres bag of the expanded clay pellets was plenty enought for the whole big wooden box. We put the filter fabric on the top of the pellets before adding the turf compost. We bought 1000 litres of the turf in 50 litres bags so that I could also carry the bags up to the green house. We lined the wooden boxes with builder plastic so that the boxes would last longer. We made few small holes on the bottom of the plastic so that the extra water would run off. We put also the watering system on it's place. The plastic water container was moved to the other side of the green house to maximise the space inside the green house. The watering systems seems to work also this time.
I planted also pepper, oregano, pees, salad, parsley and thyme plants or seeds. To prevent possible pests I planted also some marigold seeds into the green house.
One of our Bernise girl accidently cut one of the tomato plant with one sweep of her strong tail. I think I will buy one tomatoe plant and treat it before planting into the green house.
Outside of the green house I planted some marigolds. They are so lovely.
Part of the pioneses have started to grow. Hopefully the remaining ones will start too.
The climbing roses don't have any buds yet but they seem to have survived the winter.
I also hanged the bar for the butterflies.
Parvekeremontin takia emme voi tänä kesänä käyttää parveketta. Toimme parvekkeella olleen suihkulähteen täksi kesäksi mökille solisemaan. Laitoimme sen lekaharkkojen päälle. Muoviastian ympärillä on parvekkeen lattiasta ylimääräiset laudat suojana ja koristeena. Astian pinnalla on verkko, johon laitoimme koristekiviä sekä viime kesänä tekemiäni betonisia koristeita (mm. laiva, koira, meritähtiä ja kaloja). Käytin valussa apuna lasten hiekkaleikkimuotteja. Toimivat hyvin.
Due to the balcony renovation we can't use it this summer. So we brought the fountain which we have used in our balcony to the cottage for this summer to burble. We put it on the leca bricks. The plastic water container has been covered with extra board from the balcony floor building. There is a metallic net on the surface of the container and we put on it some decoration stones and concrete ornaments (like a ship, a dog, some starfishes and fishes) which I made last summer. As casts for the concrete I used casts ment to be used in childrens' sand play. The casts worked well.
